I still have my “survival kit” from my Practice Teaching days! (marker should be included in the photo but I forgot)
Tips for those who’ll be in their Practice Teaching course this year.
1. Bring with you a large amount of patience.
2. Be prepared always. As you can see in the photo, I have some basic school supplies that us, teachers, should always have with us. You’ll never know when you cooperating teacher will ask you to teach. So better be prepared.
3. Be punctual. If your call time is 7 a.m., be in your cooperating school before 7 a.m. Remember, your cooperating teachers know who among you has the initiative.
4. Wear your uniform properly. You are a teacher, not someone selling her flesh. Your looks matter to your students primarily because that’s how they’ll give their first impressions.
5. Do your best in everything. If you have with you a creative idea, go for it! Don’t let others get in your way. If you can think of it, you can do it. Be innovative.
6. Take good care of your health. I swear that practice teaching is a major stress! You don’t want to absent yourself right? It will reflect your performance.
7. Lastly, pray. Draw strength from God. It works perfectly.
